About Conclave
ISMA SugarNXT is a premier industry platform committed to shaping the future of the Indian sugar sector through technology transformation, innovation, and meaningful knowledge exchange. The conclave is being organised by the Indian Sugar & Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA), with the support of the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD).
This two-day conclave brings together leading experts, solution providers, and decision-makers to showcase advanced, scalable, and implementable technologies that strengthen mill operations and improve day-to-day efficiency.
The event highlights practical innovations designed to enhance productivity, diversify revenue streams through ethanol and bio-energy, and support sustainable growth across the entire value chain. ISMA SugarNXT also serves as a space for understanding future industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging opportunities that can help mills stay competitive in a rapidly evolving environment. Through expert sessions, demonstrations, and collaborative discussions, the conclave aims to accelerate the sector's transition toward smarter, more efficient, and future-ready operations.
The platform is designed for a diverse audience, including sugar mill owners, senior management, department heads, technologists, researchers, policymakers, and regulators. It also connects equipment manufacturers, digital solution providers, consultants, investors, and startups who are actively contributing to the next phase of transformation in the sugar ecosystem.
About the Indian Sugar & Bio-Energy Industry
India is home to one of the world's largest and most dynamic sugar and bio-energy industries, contributing significantly to rural livelihoods, national energy goals, and global sustainability efforts. At the heart of this sector is the Indian Sugar & Bio-energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) — the apex industry body and the largest consortium of private sugar mills and bio-energy manufacturers in the country.
For over 93 years, ISMA has served as the collective voice of the Indian sugarcane sector, advocating for the interests of over 55 million farmers and thousands of industry stakeholders. Through continuous engagement in regional, national, and international policy discussions, ISMA ensures the sector's alignment with evolving market demands and regulatory landscapes.
Beyond its role in policy advocacy, the industry is a key player in India's green energy transition. With innovations in ethanol production, sustainable farming practices, and circular economy models, the sugar and bio-energy sector is not just contributing to energy security, but also paving the way for a more sustainable future.
ISMA also prioritizes capacity building, labour welfare, and environmental stewardship, ensuring that economic progress is inclusive and sustainable. With a strong foundation in collaboration and a commitment to long-term impact, the Indian sugar and bio-energy industry continues to lead with purpose — shaping the future of agriculture and renewable energy.
